A friend who does missions work in Kenya recently returned to Canada and brought me some local small farm hand picked green coffee beans. I roasted a batch up tonight and was in for a real treat. I put a couple pictures below of the green and roasted beans. I typically buy my green coffee beans from an importer that deals with smaller coffee operators, but there is nothing like hand picked and processed beans. The roasted beans pictured were dropped around 20 seconds into second crack. Note the little line of chaff in the center that often accompanies a fresh hand picked bean.
